Adolph P. Rockstroh

Moline, Illinois Adolph P. Rockstroh, 88, formerly of Moline, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Geneseo where he had resided for the past 2 ½ years. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend A. Parker Lewis III will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. Mr. Rockstroh was born December 29, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Adolph F. and Laura (Pfaff) Rockstroh. He married Evelyn Canahl on August 6, 1938, in Chicago. She died November 12, 1999. He was a mechanical engineer for the U. S. Army Weapons Command on the Rock Island Arsenal for 34 years, retiring in 1972. He was a long-time active member of Hope United Church of Christ, Moline, and its predecessor, Plymouth-Gordon Congregational Church. He and his wife started the church's Visitation Committee and were active on it for many years. He was a member of Doric Lodge #319, AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Local #15, National Federation of Federal Employees, and AARP. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and working on his car. Adolph is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Marge Rockstroh of Geneseo; four grandchildren and their spouses, William Jr. and Rose Rockstroh, Laurie and William Heller, Julie and Scott Cocquit, and Ruth Miller; and 12 great-grandchildren.
