Carol A. Lewis, 70 of Moline, died Friday at Clarissa Cook Hospice, Bettendorf. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 7 PM at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Carol Lewis Memorial Fund.
Carol was born on May 14, 1940 in Moline, Illinois to Allan & Lois (Lindstrom) Saunders. She married G. Douglas Lewis on June 27, 1969 in Erie Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2000.
Carol was a devoted mother who treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a child prodigy on the piano and passed on her love of classical music to her children. Some of her favorite activities included: knitting, crocheting, puzzles and late night philosophical discussions. She also enjoyed collecting penguins and was an avid Chicago Bears and College Basketball Fan. Her beloved companion was her toy poodle, Sophie. Carol was a 27 year Breast Cancer Survivor.
Carol was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed her time spent with the Bell Choir, ?Tin Tin Nabulators?.
Those left to cherish Carol?s memory include her children and their spouses: Suzy Lewis of Moline; Russell Lewis & Devon (Quinn) Price of Seattle WA; Colby-jayne & John Walls of Honolulu, Hawaii; Andrew Lewis & Kirsten Hedegaard of Highland Park; James & Daina Lewis of Moline and Gregory Lewis & Sarah Moran of Galesburg; Grandchildren: Christopher & Janie Lewis; Paige and Tristan Lewis; Evan Morgan; George, William & Henrik Lewis; Aidan and Jack Lewis and one great-grandchild: Jamie Lewis. Also surviving is her best friend, Bonnie Vize. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a daughter in infancy, Denise.
