Anne Bell Nesbitt

Anne Bell Nesbitt, 82, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, January 23, 2017, at home.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to the Harold Bell Scholarship Fund at Augustana College.

The former Datha Anne Brown was born May 12, 1934, in Fountain Head, Tennessee. She married Dr. Harold Bell on January 9, 1953, in Portland, Tennessee. He died May 6, 2003. She later married Stanley Nesbitt on November 12, 2008, in Rock Island. He died August 8, 2016. She earned her B.S. in French and Spanish, with a minor in accounting, from Western Carolina.

Anne was a teacher and tutor in East Lansing, Michigan, and then Danville High School before moving to Moline in 1965, where she started off teaching at Wilson Junior High. The following year, she moved to Moline High School, where she taught French and Spanish for 38 years, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, and a past member of McKendree Memorial UMC in Portland, Tennessee. She enjoyed traveling all over the world, both with family and with school trips. She also liked knitting and crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family.

Anne is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Suzan Bell of Moline; five grandsons and their spouses, Wade and Kalyca Bell of Brookings, Oregon, Clint and Melissa Bell of Davenport, and Wesley and Lorie'Ann Bell, Seth Bell, and Lucas Bell, all of Moline; seven great-grandchildren; three step-children and their spouses, Gay and David Miller of Houston, Texas, Tim and Kelly Nesbitt of Highland Village, Texas, and Todd and Beverly Nesbitt of Winona, Mississippi, and their families; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gussie Empson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Dorothy "Dot" and Bob Dorr of Kingsport, Tennessee, and their families.
