Colleen Kannenberg, 59, of Bettendorf, Iowa, entered into Eternal Life on the night of November 24,2015.

Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

A celebration of Colleen's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016, at First Christian Church, East Moline, conducted by her dear friend and pastor, Bill Coley. There will be a lunch to follow the service. Please dress informally for this service. Darry and Jared will be doing the floral tribute, but those wishing to make a memorial may do so at one of the following: First Christian Church, East Moline; the hunger ministries of Churches United of the Quad Cities, 2535 Tech Drive #205 Bettendorf, Ia.; or Quad City Wind Ensemble, Treasurer at 923 Arlington Ct. Davenport IA 52803.

(Alice) Colleen Burns was born on November 9, 1956, to C. William and Carol Ann (Peadro) Burns. She attended grade school in Milan, IL, and then moved to Rock Island where she graduated from Rock Island Sr. High in 1974. She received her degree in Social Work from Augustana College, and in 1979 began work for the State of Illinois at the Rock Island County Public Aid office. She spent her entire professional career with this office; retiring in 2013 as a Local Office Administrator.

On October 31, 1980, she married Darry Kannenberg at Memorial Christian Church of Rock Island. To their union was born a son, Jared. She was so proud of the man he grew to be. They share a bond which will never be broken.

Colleen was called into Music Ministry at a very young age. She has soloed and sung with various choirs for many years. She also directed choirs at two local Disciples of Christ churches. Twenty-six years ago, she joined the congregation of First Christian Church, East Moline. She was nurtured there by her church family, and ministered with them in Music, as a Deacon, and Elder, and as board member/moderator for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Darry, her son Jared and daughter-in-heart Megan, grandson, Braeden, and Granddaughters, Audriana and Aria, all of Bettendorf, Ia. Her mother, Carol Ann Burns, of Rock Island. Her brother Tom Burns( Rebecca Denoon) is from Versailles, Mo. Also sharing her memory are three nieces, Tammie Paul, Aimee York, and Ashley Marshall. Family of the heart celebrating her life include Deb Langley, Kathy Mainz, Julie Andrew, and Susan Paulson.
