Katherine D. Collins, 80, a resident of Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, February 26, 2010, shortly after arrival at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Alice Shirley, Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Katherine Darlene Mackin was born May 10, 1929, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of James and Bertha Kramer Mackin. She married Clarence Edward Collins on June 30, 1946. He died June 14, 1993. She enjoyed cross stitching, needlework, and Japanese embroidery.

Katherine is survived by two sons, Ralph W. Collins and his wife Sherry of Parker, Colorado, and William E. Collins of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren, Krystal Jenkins and Casey Collins; a great-grandson, Hunter Jenkins; a brother, Wayne McGinnis of Davenport; and a sister, Beverly Edell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, James Mackin.
