Richard Lee Tubbs, 66, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, in his residence.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Graveside services will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. The Reverend Patrick Street, Sr., Vineyard Church of Davenport, will officiate, and Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors.

Richard was born July 5, 1943, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Jesse John and Matilda Bigley Tubbs. He married Felicitas Diaz in 1964, in San Francisco, California. She died in 1989. He was a Chief Dental Technician in the U. S. Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1982.

He leaves behind his God given second chance with love, Virgie Jean Bourrage, his ex-wife of 10 years, of Davenport; six step-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Anne Flint of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Phil Tubbs of Moline; nieces, Phyllis and Cheryl; and a nephew, Gene.
