Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Sherrard, Illinois Jean Lewis, 85, of Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Sherrard, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in Trinity Rock Island. Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Sharline Jean Conard was born April 2, 1926, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Palmer) Conard. She married Robert Madison Lewis on October 26, 1944, in Woodville, Mississippi. He died November 2, 1994. She worked at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley for over 26 years. She enjoyed crosswords, word-searches, and watching reality shows on TV. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Jean is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert and Barbara Lewis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, William and Terri Lewis of Moline, Illinois, and Linda and Byron Eichmeier of Sparta, Missouri; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Ada Galbreath of Smithshire, Illinois; and a sister-in-law, Jean Conard of Monmouth. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Edward Conard, Jr., and a brother-in-law, Keith Galbreath.
