Sylvia H. “Nanny” Creger, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, Illinois, with her family gathered around her.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Burial will be in Busch Cemetery, Lost Nation, Iowa. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Care and Control, 4001 78th Avenue, Moline.

The former Sylvia Hazel Miland was born February 11, 1921, in Spring Valley, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard and Lydia Maricle Miland. She married Wilber Creger on August 24, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa. He died October 3, 2000. She loved gardening, fishing, and especially raising her grandchildren.

Sylvia is surived by three children and their spouses, Sharon and Richard Lovelace of Moline, David and Donna Creger of Coal Valley, and Sheryl and Rocky Rogers of East Moline; four grandchildren, Crystal Buzard and her husband Randy, Stephanie Lovelace, Jeffry Creger, and Jasen Rogers and his wife Jane; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany and Aaron Buzard, Cheyanne and Alex Creger, and Jackson Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and one brother.
