Looking Through a Window - A Poem by Dad

I was looking through a window when much to my surprise there it was, my spring of life, right before my eyes.

A fairyland wonder with rainbow painted skies,

Puppy dog tails and sand box pails, as the time sped swiftly by.

I was looking through a window at summer in full glory,

A time to feed a time to weed, it’s the middle of the story.

I’m searching for the truth as knowledge is the power; here it lies before my eyes in every single flower.

I was looking through a window with autumn’s silent warning,

A falling leaf, no time for grief, the sun will shine in the morning.

I dreamed my dreams and my goals were met.

I did my best, now it’s time to rest, but it’s not all over yet.

I was looking through a window on a moonlit winter’s night,
And from afar I saw this star; I knew that things were right.

On the frosted pane for all to see, when your life is set to rest, having loved with being loved is a life that is truly blessed.

Dad loved the Spring time and could not wait to see the flowers grow in this year.
